As i was doing that - chatting with Amazon support, my friend recieved his 700 Gen2 MAX, updated it to 1.0.8 and surpise - he can replicate every single bit of what i wrote above on his headset.Īre you guys for real? There is clearly an issue with the mobile app, or the firmware, or both. I am really dissapointed with the problems i have, please get this resolved, as this is really great headset.Įdit: Was told by support that they had other people with the same issues and that replacement headset solved it for them, and that i have to ask for a replacement headset from Amazon. Ignoring the above, mic quality is great, sound is great, battery is great. I did ask the support person if this can be escalated/moved to the team/person responsible for firmware issues, as this is clearly a software issue and can be fixed via firmware adjustments, didn't get a response back. I am coming from 700 Gen 2, which has served me well for good 2 years, before the plastic broke, probably my fault, but the point is i didn't have any of the above issues with it, except on each power on game volume was at maximum and party chat wasn't working until you adjust the game volume, don't ask, never figured that one out. Not sure what happened with the voice prompts audio quality, but on my 700 Gen 2 they were loud and clear, on my MAX they sound like listening to a conversation on an old 80's phone. Had the same issue on my 700 Gen 2 as well. When you power on the headset, the game volume starts at much higher level than what it is currently set to, the wheel is not endless, so not sure what is the deal there. doesn't happen, if it does rebooting the headset eliminates it, until the next time. So basically that takes away the ability to effectively control bluetooth volume from the headset and i have to increase/decrease the volume from my laptop instead. If you assign the mappable wheel to bluetooth audio, does control the music volume coming from my laptop, however after each track volume reverts to what the volume levels are on the laptop currently. Volume controls are incosistent, the headset volume wheel, which is supposed to control only game audio sometimes controls bluetooth audio, or party chat audio too, depends on what you have mapped to the wheel. On top of that have to map it couple times to get it assigned to what i want. I am using it on Xbox,so, let't get to the fun part.ġ.The mic monitoring keeps turning itself on whenver you mute/unmute the mic.Ģ.Headset powers itself off upon powering it on, happens at random times, stays powered on after doing it twice.ģ.Assigning the mappable wheel to anything literally is chaos, shows in the app as assigned to bluetooth volume for example, then you go to re-assign it and it shows in there completely different mapping. Hoever i stil have problems with it, i have support ticket raised about that, but all i was offered was to load the firmware in bootloader mode, which didn't resolve anything, after getting back to them it is all silence for a good week now. It came with 1.0.7 firmware, audio volumes were aful, updated it to 1.0.8 and that corrected at least the volumes. Just search for your destination and secure your reservation today. My 700 Gen 2 got the plastic on the left earcup broken, so i ordered the Gen 2 MAX.
